Dr. Cal Paterson, B. Sc. (Psych.) (Hons.) D. Psych (Clin.)
I am a Consulting, Supervising and Clinical
Psychologist working from consulting rooms in Annandale and Drummoyne, in Sydney.
I am a member of the Australian Psychological Society, the Australian Association of Cognitive-Behaviour Therapists, and the International Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration (SEPI). I am also registered as a Medicare Provider and a Supervisor for Intern Psychologists.
I have presented papers and workshops in Australia and overseas on topics including Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy techniques, client factors affecting treatment outcome, working with parents and carers of people with disabilities, Personality Disorders, working with couples, and Psychotherapy Integration.
I provide counselling and psychological therapy to individuals, couples, and families, who are experiencing difficulties such as interpersonal conflict, stress, depression, anxiety, or other mental illness.
I work from an integrative treatment model, identifying and matching treatment techniques from a range of theoretical models to the individual needs of the client. My clinical Doctoral thesis involved research into this approach. I presented findings from my research at the 2007 SEPI Conference in Lisbon, Portugal.
I began working as a psychologist in Parramatta in 1998, and have worked with individuals, families and organisations across NSW and occasionally interstate ever since.
I am married with two young children, and live in the inner western suburbs of Sydney.
